      JOE ASKINS
      Services for Joseph E. "joe" Askins, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. today, oct. 17, 2001, at Brown-
      Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tim Tomlinson will officiate with entombment in
      Westview Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to West Hartsville Baptist Church, 1003 W. Carolina

      Mr. Askins died Sunday, Oct. 14. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Carson B. and Marie Wabbel Askins. He was an electical and plumbing contractor for 30 years and seved in the army dumy during World War II. He was a former member of the Lions Club and Moose Lodge.

      Surviving are his wife, Betty ASkins of Hartsville; a daughter, Joyce Askins of Hartsville; brothers, Dan
      G. Askins of Hartsville and C.B. Askins Jr. of Lake City; granddaughter,Janna Easterling of Lake
      Wylie; numerous nieces and nephews.
